Connor plays

Where did the alligator go?
I can see it
There it is!  Gotcha!

Just taking a look at the world from a different perspective.
"Ooooh" Sprinklers!
This picture doesn't quite do him justice...but Connor is all wet and grinning from ear to ear.
Some of Connor's favorite things include putting various animals but especially the alligator into pockets.  We play this at church all the time and he gets a kick out of it.  This time we were at home and he didn't have a pocket so it went down the front of his shirt.  He thought it was equally fun.

He also likes to point out all sprinklers on our walks or just walking from the car to the house.  Grandma and Grandpa had their sprinklers going so Connor decided to play in them a little bit.  He was having a grand old time and didn't mind getting wet at all...this was the evening and I was wrapped in a blanket trying not to freeze and my kiddo was playing in the sprinklers.  The cold didn't phase him one bit.

Happy Mother's Day

I got the link to this from a friend at church...it was too funny, I had to share.

Happy Mother's Day!

18 months old today!

Connor turned 18 months old today...and most of us know what that means...today was his first day of NURSERY!!!!  Since about 12 months old Connor has been quite a wiggle worm and one of us is often found roaming the halls of church with him.  Well not much today.  He lasted through most of sacrament meeting and then it was time to drop him off at nursery.  Can you guess who was the most nervous of the family?  Was it Daddy, Mommy or Connor?  I'll give you a hint, Mommy has been counting down the weeks for awhile now and Connor saw a room filled with toys and other small people.  Connor had a small melt down at the door when he had to get his hands and face wiped before entering the fun room, but then Colette came and got him and that was the last we saw of him for the next two hours.

Peter wanted to go and sit with Connor, but I suggested we just let him go and if they need us they'll come and find us.  The lady in charge of guarding the door (Kimberly) suggested the same.  So Peter and I enjoyed Sunday School together (this is a first in about 6 months).  Though every time the chapel doors opened both of our heads turned to the doorway.  After that block was over we headed to the nursery to look through the peep hole and see how Connor was doing.  Colette was walking toward the room with snack and she said they were currently in singing time but Connor was doing well.  So we didn't look in.  Peter went to Priesthood and I went to Relief Society.  With about 10 minutes left of Relief Society I hear a familiar cry in the hall (I was sitting by the door).  The door opened and Colette motions for me to go outside.  She tells me Connor had just melted down and had only been crying for about two minutes.  He was clearly exhausted and in much need of a nap.  She said he did very well.  I took him and we wiped his face down and then stopped at the drinking fountain (this is one of Connor's new favorite things to do at church-not sure if he actually drinks much though).  I was at the drinking fountain when Amy walked by and said Connor did very well.  They had just gotten back from a walk and were getting a drink when Connor had a melt down.  She thought maybe he just wanted more to drink.

All in all it sounded like Connor had a great time.  He came home and was too tired for lunch.  He just wanted to take a nap.

After his nap we went and visited with Grandma B.  Connor enjoyed getting wet by the pool, taking the garbage out and playing in boxes.
Grandma and Grandpa got their pool redone recently.  With it darker it warms up quicker.  We're expecting warm weather this week and plan on swimming soon.  Today the pool was 75 degrees and we've only had a couple of warm days lately.

The Huntington

Peter, Connor, Chris, Claire, Diana, Laurel and Nancy (Diana's neighbor) went to the Huntington today.  Nancy had never been there before.  They had a great time enjoying the garden, library and museum.
I played with magnetic sand
Ran my fingers through the nice cool fountains
Looked at some big fish
And pointed out some other neat things
I enjoyed exploring the world
Then on the way home we got stuck in traffic so we stopped at Bass Pro Shops for dinner and because Chris had never been before. I enjoyed exploring the shop.
