Moo!

Lately Connor has been practicing his animal sounds.  He says, moo, woof, meow, baa, cack (quack), and ink (oink).  One night last week after being tucked into bed, he repeated all the sounds he knew how to make until he fell asleep.  Another night he woke up in the middle of the night, said, "moo" and then went back to sleep.

Connor has also recently given up his binky.  Basically he chewed through all of them and slowly we were throwing them away.  Then last week or so he chewed a big hole in one of his tougher ones and then went to sleep just holding it.  Realizing he really didn't need it anymore we told him it was broken and we didn't have anymore.  He's been fine ever since.  We do have one spare hidden one in case of an emergency, but I doubt he'll need it.  My little boy is growing up.

At the end of June I plan on tackling the fine art of potty training...this shall be fun.

Rolling in the grass

We went to Anderson's today and brought home watermelon/cantaloupe, some flowers and a few packets of seeds.  Connor and I got busy planting the plants and seeds.
Then later on, after refusing to take a nap (apparently you shouldn't give your child ice cream and a fruit smoothie before nap time).  We had some fun rolling in the grass.
We even took some cute videos.

Connor took a really cute one too.

Interesting license plate

We were out running errands today when a black car drove by us with the license plate of RD CRPT.

Peter: Road Crypt
Mandy: Red Carpet
Peter: Who would put red carpet on a hearse?
Mandy: It wasn't a hearse, it was a limo.
Peter: Oh yes, I guess that does make more sense.

Later I was thinking...Who would put road crypt on a hearse?  We had a few laughs.

No, I am NOT getting in the bathtub!

If Connor talked I'm sure he would say those exact words.  His screams pretty much said it all tonight.

While living at the Condo, Connor almost always had baths.  It was a shower if we wanted to get it over quickly.  Well, since moving to this house, this house only had one bathtub and it was disgusting.  There was no way I was going to bathe my kid in a mold infested bathroom-I mean I refused to use the toilet up there, it was too gross.  So let's say from August until today Connor has had only showers.  We thought for sure he was going to love having a bath again.  We got some toys, bubbles, and were ready to have him get in....yet he didn't want anything to do with that tub.  He stood outside the tub and played with the water, but didn't want to get in.  Each time Peter tried to put him in, he would pull up his feet and let out a few screams to let us know he truly wasn't happy.
And then it finally happened.  I was sent to get cups, Connor was placed in the tub and then the playing with the cups began.  I guess the bath wasn't so bad after all.

We have two bathrooms!

Frank came by today after work and put on some finishing touches on our bathroom.  It's still missing a mirror and a towel bar (the bar we ordered and now we can't find it...we hope it didn't accidentally get taken out with the trash).  But the bathroom looks awesome!!!

Next on Frank's to do list: mud the walls and ceilings of all four upstairs bedrooms and then texture.  Then we'll come in and paint and carpet everything.  We also decided to carpet the stairs (though I really hate vacuuming stairs).  We have also decided to turn the living room into the family room and carpet that as well to help with sound control.  The old family room will be the kitchen/dining room and we're adding an island to the kitchen.  We asked Frank if it was possible to add electricity to the island.  His response-"You know I could've done that while I was redoing your kitchen before.  I even asked you if you wanted an island...but in answer to your question, yes."  He'll pull the oven away from the wall and use that wire junction (or whatever he called it) and run it under ground and jack hammer the floor a little bit and make it all work.  He's also going to make sure all the electricity upstairs is in tip top condition.  He said he'll take care of the electricity after we get the carpet installed, so he can sit on some soft padding instead of hard floor.  Our house has so many weird quirks about it, it's really nice having Frank around to fix everything.  He also randomly sees things and adds them to his list.  While out in the garage he sees we have set up a makeshift tool bench thingy to paint shelves on.  "Looks like you need a tool bench.  I'm going to build you one right here in this free space so you'll still be able to park your cars in the garage.  Then everything will have a proper place."  Peter also came home with some tool organizer hanging things.  I'm excited to try to find some order in my garage.
