Escalator Fun

Tonight we went out to Casa De Pico in Grossmont for Mary's birthday. Afterward Peter and I decided to go to Target only because they have an escalator for the carts. Well we go in, ride the escalator, look around and come out empty handed. Then we headed over to Walmart in the same shopping center. They too had two floors and had an escalator for the carts. Peter grabbed a cart and wanted to try it out. We found a shirt for Peter's sister and then rode the escalator to the second floor. Everything was all fine and dandy, except it was 10pm and we were both pretty tired, so we decided to head back down to check out. On the escalator ride down the cart got stuck at one point, unstuck itself and kept going down. Then about two feet from the bottom it gets stuck again and makes a terrible noise. Someone came to help and pushed the stop button on the cart escalator. Then that person rode the escalator to the top and found someone else to back up the escalator and try it again. Well it got stuck again. So why not another try. Yup it got stuck again. Then one of the workers starts going down the cart escalator and decides that's not a good idea. He comes down the escalator and tries pulling the cart from the bottom. The dang thing is really stuck! Peter was like, "I just had to try the cart escalator out didn't I?" I asked the guy trying to fix the cart if he could just give us the shirt so we could go check out. He did and while we were checking out I heard the guy finally get the cart unstuck. It was an adventure.

We just found this on Youtube...we were just as stupid, except we didn't have a video camera or a camera of any kind and we broke the escalator!

Find a penny pick it up all day long you'll have good luck!

So Peter found a penny yesterday and picked it up and we have been benefiting today. We went to Laurel's color guard performance today. As we were walking up to the gym there was a lady coming out and she asked if we had bought our tickets yet. We hadn't. So she gave us her arm bracelet which was the ticket to get in. Sweet she saved us $10. So we only had to pay for one ticket. It was great. While watching the color guard teams perform Peter spied another penny and picked it up. After the show was over we headed over to McDonalds for ice cream and a brief dinner snack. We ate our dinner and went back for the ice cream sundaes. Peter comes back with three...the people gave Peter the wrong kind, so he got one extra one for free. So the moral of the story, If you find a penny pick it up and all day long (or the next day) you'll have good luck :)

Happy Birthday to Peter!

Happy Birthday to my honey,
Happy Birthday to my love bug,
Happy Birthday to my sweet heart,
Happy Birthday to my snuggle buns!

It's Peter's birthday today...he's the big 30!

His comments:

"I swear I'm losing my hair more and more each day."

"Three decades old."

"I only hang out with a couple people older than me...gosh I'm old."

"Darn it honey, I heard 80's music on the oldies station!"

Peter got sponge bob fruit snacks, his favorite licorice, a down jacket, and a turkey roasting pan....turkeys beware, he's excited to use his pan.

We went out to a Japanese restaurant for dinner. The food was delish.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVE!

The Kitchen Accident

So I was watching TV and Peter was in the kitchen with a knife. There was a crash, followed by a scream. I ran to get the camera instead of the car keys (my hubby picked a real winner :) ) What did he just do? Here's the picture:

Okay so my initial reaction was, "Are you okay?" When he started laughing, "It looks like bloody murder in the kitchen." I mean really it looks like he chopped part of his toe off and the blood gushed all over the place. Now knowing me, grabbing the camera would've been the last thing I would do if he really was hurt...but I'm not sure I could stomach driving him to the hospital either. Sorry dude you're on your own...only kidding :)...well sort of :) I'd make sure he was wrapped up really good so he wouldn't spill any blood in my car. And also so that I couldn't see it.

Okay so what really happened? Have you figured it out? He was making strawberry shortcake for dessert when he dropped a spatula with strawberry sauce on the floor. It made a large noise, he yelled "OHHHHHHHH!"....followed by laughing and the bloody murder part and then I grabbed the camera. Looks pretty nasty though doesn't it?

The Group Photo

Here you have it. I took Fred's advice and took a picture of the picture, that way you could see that it isn't my fault that the heads are chopped off :) I think we were too big for the studio. Sad part is I don't know what to do with the photo. If I frame it I might lose the rest of the heads and probably Amy too. Hmmm, any ideas?

Christmas photo...finally!

Aren't we just the cutest couple you ever saw? We got this taken before Christmas and we just got them...okay they were ready before now, but they were just picked up a couple days ago. We are not thrilled with the Odenwalder family picture. There were 13 people crammed together and the brothers all got their heads chopped off. Peter, Sean and Chris are all missing half of their heads in the picture. Peter's dad has a goofy smile, Laurel's head is on crooked. The babies were doing the best they could to be happy given that they were sick and really what baby wants to get their picture taken before dinner? Well yeah, that leaves me, Mary, Amy, and Peter's mom. We looked fine in the picture. Though half of Amy is cut off, but at least they left her head. I would scan the picture in, but we got it in a larger size than my scanner is...so just imagine it :)
