Every morning when I drop Connor off at my parents' house, Gracie gets all excited and bounces around. She can hardly wait for me to put down the car seat so she can stick her nose in Connor's face. When Connor naps, she sneaks into the room and checks on him in the pack-n-play. Today they were nose to nose and Connor squealed in delight. They are such a cute pair.
During one of Peter's Fridays off from work and my president's week off of work, we went to the Zoo to see the new baby hippo. He stayed very close to his momma and napped.
It was very cold out (well cold for us San Diegans) and the weather reports said it would rain around 5pm. Well we arrived around 1 and it was sprinkling. Luckily we had an umbrella and warm clothes, so we stayed comfy. Connor was all snug as a bug and slept in the ergo. We stayed until about 3 and then headed home. While pulling the car out of the parking lot it started to downpour...we got out just in the nick of time...so much for listening to the weather reports.

Yummy Green Beans!
Day one of rice cereal was a near success. Day two and so forth were complete successes. Connor loves rice cereal. Our pediatrician suggested we introduce cereal and then veggies a week at a time. It has been almost two weeks on cereal so we decided to try pureed veggies. This week's experiment-Green Beans. Here's the video...I wasn't expecting him to like it, so I didn't put much in the bowl...he apparently loved it and was mad when I ran out.
We also had tummy time earlier today.
Tummy time lasted all of about 3 minutes and then Connor rolled over. We put him back on his tummy and he rolled over again.Tuesday, March 8, 2011
4 Months Old
We had our 4 month check up this morning. And yes we're still long and lean-what a big surprise :) Connor is in the 4th percentile for weight-11lbs 12oz, 55th percentile for length-25 inches, and 14th percentile for head circumference-16 inches. Apparently we weren't on the charts last month for weight, so 4% is an improvement. The doctor said we could try rice cereal now and introduce pureed veggies soon. So here was our attempt this evening at rice cereal:
The cereal goes in
The cereal comes out and he seems like he doesn't like it or does he?
I'd rather eat the bib
Are you giving me more?

I'm calling the introduction to cereal a success. Some went in, some came out and I heard swallowing so some went down too. And each time I brought the spoon close, he opened his mouth, then he would pull a face as if he didn't like it, spit some out and then open his mouth ready for more.

Sometimes it isn't nice to share
So in the previous post I mentioned how I got sick...well, Connor and Peter got it too. Having a sick baby is no fun at all! As the cold got passed, it mutated and got worse. I had a runny nose and only had a cough one night. Connor had the congested head, snotty nose, watery eyes, cough...oh it was miserable sounding. He also had a low grade fever. He was only happy/err I mean he could only breathe while sitting upright. He took naps on various chests, slept with a pillow under his mattress. Peter made some frantic phone calls to friends and family members. Thanks to Greg and Ellen for the humidifier...we now have our own. And now our sweet little angel is recovering quite well.
So I passed the cold to Connor and he in return passed it on to Peter. Peter has/had the snotty nose, cough, fever and since it had to mutate again, he got lucky and was throwing up too.
So yes, sometimes it isn't nice to share.
