Friday was our one year anniversary of having keys to our house. It was one year ago that our contractor-Frank, stepped into our house to fix the small things that we had a list of, and ended up demolishing our kitchen. A lot has happened in the past year with this house. We have: gutted and expanded the kitchen, removed all original flooring except the downstairs bathroom(that will happen eventually), put in brand new carpet and tile, new paint everywhere, rebuilt the staircase-stripped, sanded, stained the railings, painted the spindles, gutted and removed a wall in the upstairs bathroom, put new flooring in the upstairs hall so it doesn't creak anymore, mudded, textured and painted all walls and ceilings in the entire house. New windows in the downstairs bedroom and kitchen were installed as well as two new sliding glass doors as well. In the front yard-well it looks amazing! We have flowers, grass, trees, and a florishing fruit and veggie garden with brand new sprinklers and a drip system.I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting-basically if it could be redone, it was! The only thing that currently remains is the downstairs bathroom-but that did get a little bit of a facelift.
Friday was Peter's day off of work so we got a lot done: painted some baseboards, installed the Pooh border in the nursery, I unloaded several bags of bears onto the shelves in the nursery and put up the baskets with clothes.

A look downstairs-it's a bit freaky without railing

So that brings us to tonight....We had family dinner at the O's. Sean and Amy have moved here and are currently staying with Peter's parents. Heidi is 5 months older than Connor and she is potty training. This evening Kirk comes running outside announcing that Heidi has pooped her pants and it's everywhere! Amy rushes in to clean the mess and comes back to announce, "that's not my child." Connor had the worst blowout I've ever seen. Peter called for backup and then told me to get the camera. It was really gross! While Peter and I cleaned up Connor, Amy and Mary cleaned up the areas that Connor pooped on...it was everywhere. Later in the evening we found more on a duvet cover...sorry guys!
